Cooking Demos & Farmers Markets: Supporting Seniors at National Church Residences
Wholesome Wave Georgia (WWG) brings cooking demonstrations and farmers markets to National Church Residences locations across Metro Atlanta, helping Older Adults access fresh, healthy food while supporting aging in place and fighting ageism.
In 2024, WWG served 680 residents, and in 2025, we’re on track to reach over 1,200 Older Adults through these events. These community led and inspired cooking demos focus on fighting ageism and supporting older adults as they age in place with dignity and independence.
National Church Residences is the nation’s largest nonprofit provider of affordable senior housing, serving 65,000 seniors across 350 communities. Their mission is to improve the lives of 100,000 seniors by 2030, by providing health care services and housing options to help them live comfortably wherever they call home.
By partnering with National Church Residences, WWG ensures Older Adults have access to fresh produce and community-led nutrition chats, empowering them to make choices while strengthening the place they call home.
